Functioning of industrial ventilation systems is often judged as non-successful or non-reliable. Consequences of such poor working effects of these systems are: excessive working environment pollution, deposition of dust and/or fluids on floors, passages, constructions, or processing equipment, as well as huge pollutant emissions in the atmosphere, what pollutes the environment. Reasons for bad work of industrial ventilation systems could be multivariate: bad design solution, poor quality equipment, unbalanced system, irregular maintenance, what all could cause that after the correct start-up, systems rapidly falling in a non-functional state. All quoted shortages could be classified in two groups: on some is possible to influent by better work organization, whereas for others is necessary to find appropriate technical solutions for work enhancement and easier equipment and parameter control.

It is important to emphasize that industrial ventilation systems (dedusting, gases and fumes extraction) are making a complex unity and should not be identified with a collector itself. For example, it is useless to apply a collector with efficiency of over 99% if an extraction hood on the beginning of the installation is capable to capture only 60% of emitted pollutants.
